Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Ambulatory Care Division for an experienced supervisor to take a Band 5 'Deputy Service Manager' role overseeing the administrative and clerical aspects of Central Appointments to deliver outpatient services to the specialities across QMC and City campus.

This Deputy Service Manager role is required to help manage the staff and the service that are pivotal to both the appointment booking and the day to day running of the department.

Working closely with the Outpatients Management team , you will have excellent communication skills with proven experience of being able to manage multiple demands from different areas. You will have the ability to deal with sensitive situations and conflict in a diplomatic and tactful manner to ensure all stakeholders needs are met.

You will have experience in both leading a team and delivering elements of projects. You will possess the ability to work under pressure, with excellent planning, time management and organisational skills.

The successful candidate will have the ability to anticipate and manage capacity and performance issues in a timely manner. They will be able to organise and prioritise their own workload against constantly changing demands to meet agreed targets and deadlines, working flexibly as required across all NUH campuses.

It is desirable for applicants to be competent in the use of Careflow, Qlik Sense, DrDoctor, Electronic Referral System, Outlook and Excel.

Training and Qualifications

Essential

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience Evidence of commitment to ongoing learning and personal development

Experience at management level which could include project management, change management, multidisciplinary working, human resource management, performance management Evidence of having achieved challenging targets

Desirable

Experience in healthcare Experience of using healthcare IT systems, including Electronic Referral System, Careflow & DrDoctor
