The roleof the InfrastructureManager

Brentford FC has anexciting opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure manager tohelp drive forward all infrastructure projects at the GTech Stadiumtraining ground and Head office.

TheInfrastructure Manager assumes responsibility for the planningdevelopment and management of the Technology Infrastructure& Network across Brentford Football Club. The role involvesan enterprise and strategic approach to improve existing operationsand technology through the development of associated roadmaps andplans implementation of innovative technology to support rollout ofapplications and daytoday management of their immediate team. TheInfrastructure Manager translates high level requirements intofeasible robust technical solutions and supports the Head ofservice delivery in commercial and strategic developments viatechnical insight and proof ofconcept.

MainAccountabilities

  • Leadand manage technology infrastructure projects from conception tocompletion. Develop detailed project plans monitor progress andadjust as necessary to ensure successfulcompletion.
  • Linemanagement of the IT Infrastructure team including any associatedoutsourcedprovision
  • Planningmanaging maintaining measuring and securing a gold standard networkacross all sites stadium offices and training ground alongside ourManaged service provider(MSP)
  • Innovation: Workwith all departments to provide subject matter expertise toidentify modern technology to support the Clubs infrastructure andoperations
  • SolutionsArchitecture: design of infrastructure and network layers specificto individual solutions (such as CRM (Customer RelationshipManagement) Sales Force ERP)
  • Network Planning:Planning of voice and data services across the Clubs technologyestate
  • Network Design:Design of networks to future proof the Club for future growth forboth new applications and recent technologies (e.g. DigitalStadium)
  • Responsibilityfor the continuous improvement strategy for all aspects of ITinfrastructureprovision
  • Capacityplanning and availability management reporting from ourMSP
  • Work with multipleinternal and external stakeholders to ensure the estate meetscompliance availability and security requirements and is kept up todate as technology advances (such as PCI ISO 27001 GDPR (GeneralData Protection Regulation) and Cyber Essentials and CyberEssentials Plus)
  • Developand implement strategies to manage and mitigate risks within the ITinfrastructure.
  • Workingwith internal project and thirdparty development teams to ensureprocesses are effective in supporting a highperformance projectdelivery pipeline.
  • Workclosely with the MSP and system providers to develop and manage arobust disaster recovery plan ensuring the IT infrastructure canquickly recover in the event of a system failure or dataloss.
  • Maintain networkinfrastructure roadmaps and provide input into the TechnologyStrategy project portfolio and capital expenditureprocesses.
  • Undertake suchother duties as maybe required from time to time as are consistentwith the responsibilities of therole.

PersonSpecification Essential Technicalrequirements

  • Firsthandexposure to managing a blended service environmentCloud/Apps/Software across a diverse supply base (e.g. managedservices outsourced offshore)
  • Thoroughunderstanding of Change Management and Change Advisory Board (CAB)processes.
  • Credible firsthand networkmanagement experience and competence with HP/Aruba technologies inparticular advanced HP routing and switching preferably withknowledge of identitybased network designs 802.11x and Macauthentication bypassmethodology.
  • ITILcertified to version 2 or 3.
  • Microsoft certifiedeither MCP or above.
  • CCNApreferable
  • Good workingknowledge of the following.
    • Microsoft Windowsdesktop and server software
    • Microsoft SQL 2012onwards
    • Type 1 and type 2 hypervisors andVMware
    • Microsoft Office 365 including Teams andIntune/Endpoint manager.
    • MicrosoftAzure
    • MAC O/S Mojave andupwards
  • Knowledge ofSophos firewalls in HA pairs at remote sites VPN and webbasedfiltering
  • Cloud based telephony experience aswell as NEC 3CX services.
  • Exposure to workingwith HD wireless networks.
  • Working knowledgeof Security frameworks (PCI ISO 27001 Cyber Essentials CyberEssentials Plus)
  • Working knowledge andsuccessful implementation of mediumscale rolloutprojects
  • Knowledge of patching and automatedsoftware deployment mechanisms
  • Ability togenerate comprehensive monthly reports on patch management andcompliance status.
  • Exposure to backupmethodologies and successful implementation whether on prem/cloudor blended approach.
  • Working knowledge of MDM(Mobile Device Management) based solutions for mobiletelephony.
  • Competency in rolling out andsupporting MFA/2FAsolutions.
