Edinburgh, United Kingdom NHS Lothian Full time

NHS Lothian Wants You

We are seeking Band 5 Operating Department / Theatre Practitioners to join our Theatre Teams within the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Theatres can be an intense fast paced environment of days, nights and weekend shifts, with a team working ethos being at the heart of the services we provide. If you are a Band 5 Registered Operating Department Practitioner or Band 5 Registered Nurse with current anaesthetic competencies and experience, and would like to join one of our busy but friendly units, this might be the post for you, and we would look forward to welcoming you into our team. This post is primarily for those wishing to work initially in Orthopaedics or Obstetrics and Gynaecology theatres.

We offer a range of training beginning with NHS Lothian’s perioperative practitioner programme for those new to the department and continuing professional development opportunities supported by the multi disciplinary team within each Theatre site.

The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh site include Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Cardiothoracic, Hepatobiliary, Upper GI, Transplant and Organ Retrieval, Vascular, Trauma, Orthopaedic, Neurology as well as our 24/7 emergency theatre. The site has recently become a Major Trauma Centre and the department are developing Robotic Surgery programmes.

We anticipate that interviews for candidates shortlisted under this advert will take place on Thursday 13th June at the Comely Bank Centre in Edinburgh.
