An exciting opportunity has just opened to join our expanding foyer team at our new scheme in Chatham which opens in September.

MHS is seeking a dedicated and professional Foyer Manager to lead one of our three supported housing schemes for young people. In this role, you will ensure the delivery of outstanding customer service, compliance with regulations, and the safety and well-being of our residents. You will oversee a team of Support Officers and Concierge, manage daily operations, and drive continual improvement in service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the operational management of the Foyer, ensuring the right level of resources is in place for safe service delivery.
  • Act as an ambassador for MHS, developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including local authorities, regulators (e.g., Ofsted), charities, and community groups.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture, using customer insight and feedback to drive decision-making.
  • Set and monitor individual and team performance, focusing on reducing arrears for rent and other charges.
  • Line manages the Foyer-based team, setting annual objectives and conducting regular performance reviews.
  • Ensure the team is supported, valued, motivated, and trained to understand the mental health implications of debt and financial concerns.
  • Provide an out-of-hours emergency Foyer management service on a rotational basis.
  • Support the Head of Supported Housing in delivering comprehensive services, providing cover for managers at other Foyer schemes when needed.
  • Monitor and report team performance against KPIs, providing regular feedback to customers and colleagues.
  • Manage and regularly review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and best practices.
  • Monitor team case management, ensuring fair and empathetic application of procedures.
  • Work with the Head of Supported Housing and Health and Safety team to maximize safety and minimize risks.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Essential:

  • Enhanced Disclosure Report.
  • GCSE Grade 5 (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience in a supported housing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Solid understanding of safeguarding, the Equality Act, and supported housing best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and resolve customer issues effectively.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with young people in a supported housing setting.
  • Relevant housing qualification (e.g., Chartered Institute of Housing Level 3 or 4).
  • Experience with performance measurement and improvement systems.
