Junior IT Security Analyst, SOCOTEC, Burton Upon Trent

We’re looking for a Junior Cyber Security Analyst. You will be working to enhance IT security within the organisation, analysing risks, vulnerabilities, threats and incidents


Reporting to the IT Security Manager as part of the IT Ops team, you will be working closely with a number of IT Teams.

  • install, configure, and maintain client computer systems, software applications, and network infrastructure.
  • Utilise vulnerability management software and implement a vulnerability management process.
  • Conduct threat and vulnerability analysis, investigate security breaches, and diagnose software, networking, or hardware issues
  • Investigate security breaches.
  • Triage IT Security service desk tickets.
  • Assist with the implementation of new security software.
  • Respond to emergencies and alerts, contributing to incident reports where required.
  • Support cyber security and compliance initiatives
  • Keep up to date with emerging security threats and technologies.

  • Experience in working in an IT Operations or Service Desk team
  • Experience of Microsoft and or Linux Server and network environments
  • Experience problem solving
  • Experience in installing, debugging IT Infrastructure issues
  • Knowledge of IT Security best practise
  • Knowledge of IT Security related frameworks
  • Knowledge of vulnerability / patch management best practise
