Job summary

As a Mental Health Clinician in the EHS Kingston Cluster, you will focus on improving the mental health of children and young people, placing them at the heart of your work. You will join an established team and have opportunities to utilize your skills through professional consultations, assessments, and individual and group therapy. Creativity and innovation in service delivery are encouraged. You will receive individual supervision, line management, and access to numerous development opportunities.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a 1 year fixed term Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, CBT Therapist/ Mental Health Clinician (Band 7 equivalent) to join the Emotional Health Service and become part of our core team. You will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:

Putting children and young people first Be a Qualified Clinical or counselling Psychologist or CBT therapist with appropriate professional registration with HCPC. Be able to provide consultation and training to a wide range of professionals Have CAMHS experience in working with complex and vulnerable families Have knowledge of and experience working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental difficulties such as Autism and ADHD.

About us

The Emotional Health Service (EHS) is a dynamic team of Clinical and Counseling Psychologists, CBT Therapists, Systemic Psychotherapists and Creative Therapists. We have staff working in specialist posts in Social Care and Schools. We also have cluster teams at Richmond (base Twickenham) and Kingston (base Chessington). We have a strong sense of team and work together to support children and young peoples emotional wellbeing. We deliver the service using Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA)

As a Mental Health Clinician in the EHS Kingston Cluster you will be passionate about improving the mental health of children and young people and putting them at the centre of all you do. You will be part of an established team and be afforded many different opportunities to use your skills, including providing professional consultations, assessments, individual and group therapy. Person Specification

Experience

Essential

compulsory for management roles Experience in leading a team, undertaking line management, performance management and change management. Experience of working within CAMHS and working with mental health difficulties including ASD and ADHD. Knowledge of delivering evidenced-based treatment for a range of mental health difficulties and NICE Guidelines. Proven ability to undertake assessments of emotional well-being. Experience of providing consultation and training to a wide range of professionals. Experience of building strong partnerships, maintaining relationships and co-producing solutions to challenges across a diverse set of stakeholders, including children, young people and their families. Advocating the voices of those we are working with. Proven ability to effectively use data, intelligence and evidence to create meaningful insight and to inform own decision making. Experience of keeping and maintaining records (in accordance with local policy) and producing accurate reports, presentations, and written updates to a range of stakeholders (which may include families, children or young people). Knowledge of statutory legislation (for example Childrens Act, SEND Code of Practice) and national policy drivers that will affect childrens services and your role, including safeguarding. Experience of addressing specific equality or diversity issues within your practice with colleagues/service users and taking action to solve them.
