We are recruiting for a Vice President level position in the EMEA M&A team with primary responsibility for Financial Sponsor M&A business across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”) region who will be based in London. 

In this role, you will have experience developing strong relationships with corporates and financial sponsor clients and working across different M&A transactions.

Job responsibilities 

Responsible for the origination and execution of financial sponsor M&A transactions, including: Client coverage of priority accounts from an M&A perspective in partnership with client executive bankers Target deal origination analysis and strategy Oversight of the preparation and delivery of M&A pitches and RfP responses Day-to-day execution project leadership of M&A transactions Management of transaction deal teams Management of engagements process and liaison with internal support functions (legal, compliance, conflicts Support for the management of the bank’s FSG M&A franchise, including: Deal pipeline and business strategy for the region including liaison with the EMEA M&A business management team Interacting with other M&A specialist areas (sell-side, defence, activism, EPP teams Partnership with equity, debt and markets groups Management of marketing materials and Dealogic league tables M&A database oversight covering regulatory requirements from different jurisdictions as well as market trends and themes Recruitment, mentoring and training analysts and associates from the region

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills 

5+ years of relevant M&A experience, including with the Financial Sponsor community  Self-starter with the ability to confidently be the point person on a deal for clients, interacting and advising them on M&A process matters Experience developing strong relationships and working across different products Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines Communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, client, advisors and key stakeholders in other lines of business Team player able to build bridges and has the ability to connect with people Experience in overseeing and training junior bankers

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

European language skills 

This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
