Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: Who will you be supporting? The people we support ages range between 23 to 31. Each individual is quite independent and mobile, and they only need verbal prompts  Each individual we support all have different challenges which include Autism, learning disabilities and mental health We have amazing staff team who are all trained and familiar with supporting their needs What is important to the people we support?  We are proud of the homely environment that we have created, we take pride in our home. We like to go shopping, to the cinema, for meals out, parties, the theatre and just general socialising We all have different day centres that we like to go to, our weekly planner is always full of activities to do throughout the week as some of us thrive of a structured routine and like to be busy. One of the gentlemen in our home aspires to gain more independence by getting a volunteering job out in the community. We all like to use the local amenities, We also use the local shops and bars. What is the home like?  Our house is a Victorian detached property with 5 bedrooms and a sleep-in room, located over 3 floors Our house has 3 stories with a cellar underneath We have a small garden located to the rear of the house, were we like to have BBQs in the summer. We also have a sensory room on the top floor of our home, where we like to host discos and do arts and crafts together. We share the lounge/dining room and kitchen area. A couple of us like to sit in the living room while having dinner to watch TV, we really like watching the news. We are located on a main road with a good bus service, we have a bus stop right outside the our home and one over the road. We have an end house, so there is parking down the side of our home. We get along with majority of our neighbours. Your values: We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.
