Long-Term Teachers are seeking passionate and dedicated behaviour mentors to support the academic progress and wellbeing of students with additional needs. We have a fantastic opportunity to work at an independent school in Totnes that we work closely with.

The school provides high quality support for students who are unable to cope in mainstream education and present challenging behaviour needs. All their work is based upon the ‘thrive approach’ which focuses on supporting the emotional and social development of students.

About the role:

  • Individual attention: Work on a 1:1 basis where required to assist in both academic and personal progress.
  • Classroom experience: Support the classroom teacher in the day-to-day running of lessons and classroom management
  • Emotional development: Help students develop their emotional wellbeing and equip them with key life skills

About you:

  • Passionate and dedicated: You must have a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people
  • Calm and professional: Able to remain calm and professional, especially when managing challenging behaviour
  • Experience preferred: Previous experience working with students with additional needs is preferred. Our school also welcomes applicants from a care/support background
  • Driver: Must be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle
