Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced Welding Technician with a background in Nuclear on a perm basis, to be located in Bridgewater, Bristol.
Accountabilities:
1. Operate the site Welding Quality Management Systems (Weldeye). To provide administration and support service to the Welding & QA-QC Dept for the Project/ Contract as required.
2. Inputting of welding data from the weld procedure specifications (WPS), the site technical schedule (STS) and engineering drawings.
3. Generate and issue Weld Process Control Cards for site welding activities, including heat treatment and NDT (work face governance)
4. Contribute to the completion of site welding quality records
Key Deliverables:
1. Operate and administer the WeldEye Welding Management System for the Project/ Contract site operations.
2. Transfer all required data into WeldEye.
3. Generate site specific weld process control cards in line with afore mentioned weld procedures.
4. Create a TQS and Weld IDs
5. Create Work Orders (generate WPCC/PWHT & NDE Requests)
6. Feedback and maintain welding activities, results, and records.
7. Maintain welding records, including document registers and dashboards
8. Maintain work files containing the necessary documentation.
9. Interact with all other departments associated with welding operations.
10. Assist with analysis of welding and NDT data and KPI's.
11. Incorporate/address pertinent lessons learned from previous activities.
12. Lead and foster a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. NVQ 2 or Equivalent
2. CITB HS&E Test
Desirables
1. Proven track record in large scale Installation of complex, multi-discipline projects, in the nuclear or similar regulated sector, including major EPC projects.
2. Experience of welding related activities, inspections (visual and NDT) and quality control.
3. A positive 'can do' mentality.
4. Demonstrates strong communication skills, liaising effectively with peers, team members and other functions.
5. Able to demonstrate accountability for their own actions and take responsibility.
