Job summary

We are looking for an Infant Feeding Administrator to join Evelina London's Infant feeding team within the health visiting service and be part of the wider Guys & St Thomas' nursing community in the boroughs Southwark and Lambeth.

Communication, kindness and compassion are really important attributes in this role and you will be supported to develop your skills within experienced nursing teams. You should be highly motivated and enjoy working with people in a positive, energetic - and at times demanding - environment delivering care for children and families.

Our health visiting service is supported by a skill mix team that include innovative support services such as the Early Intervention Health Visiting Service, who support our most complex families. Our health visiting development workers, a dedicated resource working closely with Health Visiting Service to provide one-to-one support and advice to families who need additional support.

Main duties of the job

The Administrator will provide high quality administrative support to the Infant FeedingTeam. The role of the Infant Feeding Team is to promote close and lovingrelationships between parents and their babies in which includes building a positive breastfeeding culture within the community. The UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative provides the standards to which the Health Visiting teams work, with Southwark working towards full accreditation and Lambeth working towards reaccreditation and Gold Award

The Administrator will play a key role in the efficient day to day activities of the department. The post holder will often be the first point of contact for the department and will be required to communicate in a professional and courteous manner.

The post holder will carry out assigned tasks as part of clinical team in support of Infant Feeding Leads and Health Visiting Team members in Breastfeeding Caf/Groups. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of services users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person-centred care principles.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Act as the first point of call for all patient queries to the Infant Feeding Service across Lambeth and Southwark.Provide high quality administrative support to the service. This may includebookings meeting rooms and hospitality, organising audio-visual equipment, ordering department supplies such as stationery plus any other ad hoc duties.Provide support to the breastfeeding cafes and specialist service processing referrals, making bookings, entering data on EPIC and local council recording and formatting of letters, reports, policies, minutes, presentations,statistics and general correspondence/ documents, as required, using Microsoft Office and other software packages.

Provide support for meetings, including the preparation and distribution ofagendas and taking, transcription and distribution of minutes/ action up of action points arising from meetings.Provide support for training, including booking training rooms, circulatingtraining dates, booking in staff for training, sending reminders, as well aspreparing sign in sheets, certificates, feedback forms, and equipment for the training days.Provide administrative support to projects being managed within the service as directed.

Qualification/ Education

Essential

Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent NVQ 3, City and Guilds certificate level in business administration or evidence of equivalent experience experience in administrative roles Has basic numeracy skills

Skills/ Knowledge/Ability

Proficient in use of IT systems and applications, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel Ability to work as part of a team as well as using own initiative Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Confidence in making decisions when dealing with competing priorities Excellent command of English - both written and spoken Able to demonstrate excellent written English including grammar, punctuation and structuring written text Ability to work methodically in a busy environment and meet deadlines

Knowledge of medical terminology Experience of working with hospital administration systems PiMS and hospital systems Knowledge and/or experience of breastfeeding Knowledge of Baby Friendly Initiative

Proven business administration experience which demonstrates the understanding of the key functions to providing an admin support servic/Knowledge of clerical support systems. Experience working in a customer service setting
