The Medicine Division (RSCH & PRH) has a clear priority around transforming the physical environment and model of care for urgent and emergency care across both sites. This includes the Acute Floor Redesign at RSCH (which requires significant capital investment), implementation of a new Urgent Treatment Centre model and maximising the benefits of 3T’s and new SDEC models in Respiratory and Frailty. Underpinning this significant change to the physical environment, is a programme of work to transform flow operations through the division.

As part of the Divisional Management Team and in conjunction with the Director of Operations, this role will provide operational improvement programme leadership to the Division. Working in partnership with General Managers, Heads of Nursing, Operational Managers, Matrons and other management and professional leads (within and outside of the Division) ensure high quality, safe and effective patient services.

Main duties of the job

Lead the day-to-day operations of the Operational Flow Improvement programmes in the Medicine Division (RSCH & PRH), ensuring key objectives are met and performance is reported effectively. Establish smooth governance aligned with Trust models, directing the programme's near-term planning to support broader improvement agendas. Develop high-quality materials for Trust Executive reporting and foster strong relationships with corporate and hospital leadership teams. Implement delivery structures to achieve programme objectives and provide specialized advice to stakeholders. Contribute to short, mid, and long-term planning for organizational service delivery. Oversee Programme staff, ensuring efficient delivery and timely escalations when needed.
