Job summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, combining training with hands on experience inside a busy Communications department.

Working alongside a team of communications professionals, you will be exposed to media relations, internal communications, design and print, social media and digital communications and will provide support to colleagues while learning on the job.

We are looking for individuals with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. You will be a good communicator and able to engage with staff at all levels. You will be organised and be full of ideas.

Training will be provided by an accredited training provider against a certified apprenticeship standard. You will be working towards a Level 4 qualification in Public Relations, and the course will last 20 months.

Main duties of the job

With training and support, you will be tasked with various responsibilities which will contribute to the team's role to manage communications and the reputation of the Trust. These include supporting the delivery of all internal and external communications, providing necessary administrative assistance, and serving as a guardian for Trust brand guidelines to maintain consistency. Additionally, you will also be responsible for ensuring that printed materials across Trust premises remain up-to-date, capturing imagery/video for various purposes, and contributing to the continuous updating of the Trust's digital and social media platforms.

Job responsibilities

With training and support, the apprentice will:

Support the PR & Communications Specialist, and the wider communications team, in the delivery of all communications Carry out admin support as required and lead on the filing of documentation and assets Maintain the departments distribution lists and contact databases Act as a guardian for Trust brand guidelines, implementing them consistently across your work Ensure printed materials across Trust premises are up-to-date and logged accordingly Capture imagery/video and record consent in line with GDPR requirements and Trust policies Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ensure all orders and invoices relating to the communications team are dealt with Contribute to the updating of the Trusts digital and social media platforms Maintain and enhance your own personal and professional skills and competences, undertake the training required to complete your apprenticeship and your personal development plan. GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 or above, or Functional Skills Maths and English Level 2 2 A-Levels or equivalent
