We are recruiting for a fixed term or secondment Maternity Pelvic Health Support Worker & Administration Assistantwho shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust Maternity department have begun offering a Perinatal Pelvic Health Service to support a national drive to improve the care of 'mild to moderate' pelvic floor dysfunction throughout the perinatal period.
All patients who book in their pregnancy journey at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust will be asked about their pelvic health. Patients who disclose pelvic floor weakness leading to urinary or faecal incontinence will be offered enhanced support to manage and improve their pelvic floor function through referral to the specialist pelvic health service.
The Maternity Pelvic Health Support Worker will work closely with the Specialist Perinatal Pelvic Health Midwife and Physiotherapist, to deliver and continually develop the pelvic health service and provide administrative support to the team in the management of referrals, appointments and data collection.

Main duties of the job
Working in an outpatient setting, you will assist patients to complete their treatment, teaching and progressing when necessary, individually and in groups, and to prepare the environment and equipment. This may include exercise classes for patients.
Support the day to day running of the maternity perinatal pelvic health service to ensure safe, well organised and evidenced based care is offered routinely to patients following referrals throughout the perinatal period, that may be as a self-referral or from health care professionals.
Work enthusiastically as a member of the maternity team, under the guidance of the pelvic healthspecialist midwife and physiotherapist, to ensure women and their families are at the centre of care and consideration to the needs of women and treat with dignity and respect at all times.
Work under the supervision of qualified physiotherapy and specialist midwifery staff and undertake avariety of tasks (clinical and non-clinical). To support the delivery of pelvic health treatments topatients within an outpatient setting, of which some tasks will be unsupervised.

Qualifications / Training
Essential
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
Desirable
Relevant health-related studies or equivalent experience in community settings
Previous Experience

Experience of working in a health promotion/healthcare setting Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Previous admin post held demonstrating effective administrative processes Working with pregnant/perinatal patients
