A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a CBT Therapist within Wigan Talking Therapies. We are a service that has a history of high performance in the talking therapies sector and a reputation for providing various opportunities for staff to develop and maintain their own wellbeing. We pride ourselves on clinical excellence and to this end we provide one full session per week of protected CPD time for our staff as well as providing high quality supervision and guidance.
Situated in the North West of England, the service covers Wigan and Leigh area, and affords good transport links to both Manchester and Liverpool.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join the Step 3 CBT provision within Wigan Talking Therapies. They will provide appropriate cognitive behavioural assessment, formulation and high intensity intervention. The post holder will work with clients with the full range of Common Mental Health Disorders, of variety complexity, for which CBT has been demonstrated to be potentially clinically effective. The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities

Qualifications
Essential criteria
Qualification from High Intensity IAPT Course (Post Graduate Diploma) OR Equivalent: A recorded/registered doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology/ a recorded/registered qualification in one of the following - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or a psychological therapy – plus further post graduate qualification training in CBT to at least equivalent of a post graduate diploma

Relevant experience in Primary Care settings treating anxiety and depression-related problems
