Job summary
We are looking for a robust, motivated individual to work as part of a team providing a Physical Health Service across all wards in The Cavell Centre, Peterborough.
The applicants must be committed to providing a patient centered service. Essential skills include a good level of accuracy, literacy and communication. We also expect the applicant to be compassionate and caring. The applicant must be a good team player but must also be able to work autonomously and have a keen eye for detail to ensure accurate labelling of samples for testing.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will, with the appropriate training provide a phlebotomy, ECG and physical healthcare service to patients across our inpatient services when required. Outside of these roles the post holder will be based on Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) - Oak 3 ward to support ward staff.
The hours of work will be hours to hours and or 13:00 hours to 21:00 hours and will include working across Weekdays/ Weekends / Bank Holidays.
The applicants must have an interest in healthcare and previous experience and training invenepuncture is required. Applicants must also have GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent.

To undertake physical health checks including venepuncture, and other tasks as required.
To work across several inpatient units and community clinics if required.
Support the nurse in charge in inpatient units in maintaining essential clinical stocks.
To promote a positive service user experience throughout their stay through proactive listening, being responsive to issues raised and through resolving issues and concerns raised by service users with colleagues and senior members of the team.
To be responsible for maintaining and conducting oneself in a professionalmanner towards service users, carers, colleagues and other agencies, at alltimes.
