Project Manager - Control Systems & Warehouse Automation

Position Overview:
Are you a proficient Project Manager with a strong technical background in control systems engineering or commissioning? Do you thrive in a client-facing role, spending time on client sites? We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a minimum of 3 years experience in control systems-focused Project Management roles, accompanied by a technical knowledge of Control Systems acquired through field-based commissioning or technical engineering roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage the electrical and control aspects of all projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and to agreed specifications, consistently exceeding customer expectations.
  • Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with internal personnel, external customers, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Develop technical documents aligned with client requirements and contract specifications.
  • Review technical documents and oversee software functional tests for systems, ensuring adherence to project requirements.
  • Ensure comprehensive testing and quality checks of system components, meeting required standards.
  • Attend and actively participate in regular Project Reviews, collaborating with project staff to review planning and swiftly identify and address any issues.
  • Conduct regular visits to supplier premises and construction sites to monitor progress, quality, and future work planning.
  • Promptly identify and report variations to the department manager, facilitating internal and external processing of information and associated work. Prepare cost estimates to cover any changes/variations.
  • Prepare technical specifications (and drawings) for sub-contract equipment and participate in supplier tender assessments/negotiations.
  • Manage all aspects of subcontracted packages, from order to final acceptance.
  • Actively contribute to lessons-learned meetings.

Key Requirements:
Essential:
  • Proven Project Management experience within an Engineering environment.
  • Strong track record in the design and delivery of control systems.
  • Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in site installation and management.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, both internal and subcontractors.
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.

Desirable:
  • Background in the Material Handling/Automation Industry.
  • Proficiency in understanding PLC software.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
