Consultant Radiologist with special interest in MSK / Paediatrics or GI

The appointee will be expected to fully participate in the delivery of a high quality, responsive diagnostic imaging service.
We are seeking a dynamic radiologist to join our team to be involved in the increasingly interesting and challenging demand for general and advanced imaging.
Our reporting schedule is friendly, co-operative and civilised, with strong emphasis on the team – we will actively choose the right candidate based on all round clinical skills and ability to be a team member. The post will give you an opportunity to develop your specialist interest working closely with consultant colleagues within the Trust.
Radiologists are second on call, supervising a Mersey Specialty Trainee as part of an on call collaborative reporting hub.
This is a full time position but candidates wishing to work part-time or in a job share are encouraged to apply. If a part-time or job-share person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed with the appointee on a personal basis.
The successful candidate must have full GMC registration, possess FRCR (or equivalent), have completed specialist training and be on the specialist register or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will be expected to fully participate in the delivery of a high quality, responsive diagnostic imaging service
The main duties are
Contribute to the general workload of the department including ultrasound, CT, MRI and plain film reporting.Provide specialist reporting within area of interest .Participate in MDTs as appropriate.Share with colleagues in the training of SpRs.Share with colleagues in the training, supervision and support of trainee and qualified ultrasonographers, and when appropriate of radiographers undergoing skill mix training.Participate in the general development of the Radiology Department by involvement with departmental or Trust projects/committees, equipment procurement, administration and management, audit, teaching, research, fostering good working relations within the department and good liaison with hospital clinicians and GPs.Participate in the general radiologist on-call rota.An indicative job plan, which will be subject to discussion and agreement with the appointee is outlined below. A formal job plan will be agreed on appointment.
