We are a flexible employer, offering roles up to and including full time. Our current UTC sites are Ripley, Ilkeston, Buxton and Whitworth.

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced nurses or allied health professionals to join our existing team of ACPs. We are particularly interested in applications from those interested at working at our Ripley, Whitworth and Ilkeston locations.

A Band 8a position will be offered to candidates who have already completed an MSc in Advanced Practice (or equivalent) and who can demonstrate contemporary experience working at an advanced level within a relevant clinical environment.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will establish and progress the UTCs' strategic work, supporting the General Manager (GM) in meeting the clinical lead ambitions.

The role is initially for the southern UTCs, based in Ilkeston and including Ripley, and helping to form a core team of ACPs across the four units in order to provide a model of seven day service cover, ultimately linking the trainees into a core clinical lead support resource. The GM will be responsible for ensuring that the direction of the service continues.

As an ACP you will:

Provide clinical leadership, including direct clinical care, and advice on complex issues Establish a cohesive team approach for the ACP workforce development Support the UTC service leads and managers with audit, innovation, and performance management Lead on training needs discussions, based on audit findings, supervision outputs and individual staff knowledge gaps Assist in feedback for staff appraisals. Deputise for the GM where necessary, if not being carried out by other members of staff.

You will apply advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion and decision making to the provision of clinical care to adults and children, presenting with undifferentiated diagnosis both minor injuries and illness within a UTC setting.

You will exercise a high degree of autonomy through the application of advanced clinical skills in relation to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of adults and children.

Job responsibilities

Were seeking ACPs with a special interest in the management of the typical conditions seen within a UTC, to provide day-to-day clinical leadership support to the teams.

To provide leadership support for the clinicians already working in the service, to advance the care of the presenting patients (in line with our 4 pillars approach).

Were looking for ACPs with a proven track record of working at this level in an urgent care environment and who can support the South Service Lead and Unit managers in safe care delivery.

You will lead and monitor improvements to quality of care through clinical audit, evidence-based practice, clinical supervision, teaching and supporting professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership.

You will lead the implementation of relevant clinical guidelines into practice and contribute to the further development of the evidence base through research and audit.
