About the role

:

Housing First offers client led support, with a proactive engagement approach, and a focus on meeting the client where they are at. Housing First recognises that every individual has a right to a home without having to prove housing readiness, therefore as a team we aim to reach people who have typically found it difficult to engage with generic services and may have had repeat experiences of homelessness.

Your role as a Specialist Housing First Worker, will require you to work alongside a wider team involving other Specialist Housing First Workers, and external partner agencies, as well as the local authority. You will be responsible for managing a small caseload of up to 7 clients, providing them with one to one intensive support that will be offered within the client’s home as well as within the community. 

About you:

Proactive, good at rapport building, and have a strong sense of the challenges faced by people who have been rough sleeping for long periods of time. Good communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. An understanding of the core principles of the Housing First Model and work actively to ensure that these principles are at the heart of achieving positive outcomes for our clients.  Good working knowledge of housing and the current welfare system, you will also have a passion for supporting highly vulnerable adults.
