Research Assistant in Primate Behaviour

£26, - £27, pro rata10 months full-time fixed term contract

About the Role

We are recruiting a Research Assistant with interest/experience in primate behaviour and cognition. You will assist a range of projects across the School, such as quantitative observational coding of primate behaviour from video and/or in person, organisation and analysis of long-term primate datasets, and experimental primate cognition research at Twycross Zoo.

The post holder will join a team of Research Assistants who are employed and managed by the School and allocated flexibly to internally and externally funded research projects led by members of academic staff. As each Research Assistant is usually allocated part-time to a given project, it is possible to gather a varied experience of working with a number of supervisors on different projects. There is a mentorship scheme to assist with career planning, and research methods training is available both in-house and externally. 

As this post can provide a breadth of research and teamworking experience, previous post holders have been highly successful in securing future employment including funded PhD studentships. The post is fixed term to the end of July . It is possible that the post can be extended for those who wish to continue beyond this date but this is not guaranteed.
