We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at TeacherActive Careers. This is a temporary to permanent, full-time role with an immediate start date.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support the education and development of children and young people with challenging behaviour. Your key responsibilities will include:

Main Responsibilities:
  • Providing one-to-one support to students with challenging behaviour, using effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and encourage participation in learning activities.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff and external professionals to develop tailored learning plans for students, monitoring progress and behaviour, and reporting any concerns.
  • Supporting the social and emotional development of students, promoting self-esteem and confidence.
  • Encouraging and motivating students to engage in learning, providing additional support where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • A patient and resilient attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
