This is an exciting opportunity to join a unique and specialist team in a largely Community based post, suitable for a Therapist (Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist) or Nurse, working with Paediatric and Adult patients across specialist and Community Care environments in the East of England.
The role supports the care of patients with genetic and acquired neuromuscular disorders such as muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy and other muscle wasting conditions. You will support the regional specialist Neuromuscular Clinics at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge as well as Community-based Neuromuscular Clinics in other hospitals / clinical settings in the region.
Neuromuscular conditions often require complex multidisciplinary care working in multiple settings, including Clinics, Inpatient Units, homes, schools / colleges and other Community settings. You will provide coordination, advice and support for people living with a neuromuscular condition, their families and their carers.
The post is full time ( WTE), although a job share would be considered, and makes up a regional service made up of WTE in a small and very effective team of four.
Main duties of the job
Work with Paediatric and Adult patients across specialist and Community Care environments in the East of England.
Support the care of patients with genetic and acquired neuromuscular disorders such as muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy and other muscle wasting conditions.
Support the regional specialist Neuromuscular Clinics at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge as well as Community based Neuromuscular Clinics in other hospitals / clinical settings in the region.
Provide coordination, advice and support for people living with a neuromuscular condition, their families and their carers.
