Job description

Contract Type: Permanent.

Hours: Full Time 37 hours per week.

Working Style: Mobile Hybrid

We are currently looking for a SAB & Highway Senior Engineer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for;

To undertake all duties associated with the statutory and regulatory functions of SAB & Highway Development Control service for the Authority and any associated appeals, whilst securing quality and efficient outcomes. This includes:

a) To manage your own Sustainable Urban Drainage applications, inspections, appeals and enforcement.b) To manage your own the highway planning, appeals and enforcement.c) The approval of Heavy goods licensing operating centres, appeals and enforcement.d) To provide the consultation and assess and grant approval of Water Course consent applications including dealing with appeals and enforcement matters arising from the application.e) To deputise for the SAB & Highway Development Team Leader in his/her absence where required.

You will have experience in;

SuDS Approving Body (SAB) – Sustainable Drainage.Highway & Transport Planning.Ordinary Watercourse ConsentingHighway Technical Approval & Adoption AgreementsHGV Licensing

Ideally you will have;

A minimum of HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering (or other appropriate discipline)

or

equivalent or significant relevant experience of development management, watercourse consenting, and/or and Sustainable Urban Drainage and enforcement/appeals experience. 

Member of an appropriate professional institution e.g., ICE, IHE, IHT, etc. would be essential.
