JobSummary:

To support theSenior Prosecutions Lawyer in ensuring that the Council receives acosteffective highquality Prosecutions Service and in deliveringadvice and legal support to the Council in the areas of criminallaw and local government law and such other areas and projects asare allocated from time totime.

To undertakesuch advocacy as is required from time totime.

To ensure thatall such work is carried out to the requirements of relevantclients and to appropriate professionalstandards.

KeyDuties/Accountabilities:

To undertakeall work including inter alia the settling of pleadings preparationfor hearings provision of advice and representation of the Councilin all courts Tribunals and Inquiries as required by the SeniorProsecutions Lawyer to the appropriate professionalstandards.

To provideadvice to the Council on changes in legislation and case law thatmay have an impact on the Council and to keep up to date with newand proposed legislation new cases and other developments which mayhave an impact on theCouncil.

To undertaketasks and projects as allocated by the Senior Prosecutions Lawyerin accordance withinstructions.

EssentialExperienceRequired:

MUST HAVERECENT LOCAL GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE IN PROSECUTIONS AND CRIMINALLITIGATION IN A LOCAL GOVERNMENTSETTING.

EXPERIENCE OFDEALING WITH LICENSING MATTERS INCLUDING LICENSING ACT 2003 ANDIDEALLY EXPERIENCE OF SITTING AS A LEGAL ADVISER TO SUBCOMMITTEESARISING THEREUNDER.

EssentialQualificationsRequired:

IDEALLY LOOKINGFOR SOMEONE WITH 2 YEARSPQE.
