Job summary

A vacancy has arisen for an Administrator to join the Ashford & Canterbury Community Mental Health Admin Team.

The Ashford & Canterbury Community Mental Health Team is spread over a number of sites and we are looking for a self-motivated, dynamic, forward-thinking, flexible Administrator to work with the Canterbury section of the team, based at Laurel House in Canterbury, with the flexibility to work at our Kings Road Clinic site in Herne Bay on an agreed/occasional basis as required.

The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent, and will have strong customer service skills, a professional and confident telephone manner, good organisational and keyboard skills. Some experience in clinical or document typing would be an advantage.

You will require good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and be able to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations.

You would be working as part of an Admin Team, supporting the wider Clinical Team, consisting of Consultant Psychiatrists, Community Mental Health Nurses and Occupational Therapists, and allied support workers.

Main duties of the job

The varied role of Administrator will include:

Diary Management and Booking clinic appointments. Having contact with patients, carers, relatives and other external stakeholders. Typing letters and reports via BigHand (audio) and/or copy typing. Using the patient record system RIO (training provided). Taking and screening phone calls and managing the admin mailbox. Minuting meetings. Ordering of stationery and other items as required via our SBS system (training provided). Reception cover
