Job Summary

The Fleet Manager is responsible for the Strategic and tactical management of the company’s vehicle fleet program as well as ensuring the execution against key compliance related areas. This position is responsible for the oversight of strategic fleet planning and day-to-day oversight to ensure Fleet Efficiency. In addition, this position is responsible for the compliance of critical fleet related areas such as DOT Compliance, Telematics, Safe Driving Behavior, Customer required risk management qualification via third party systems. The position is responsible for working effectively cross functionally while managing several competing priorities, executing against both individual projects as well as broader strategic initiatives. This position reports to the Executive Vice President of Operations. We prefer this employee to live in a market where Miner has an office. See the Miner website for office locations.

Key Job Responsibilities

Develop and Execute Strategic Fleet plans to Improve on and manage systems for the purchase and retirement of fleet vehicles; minimize total cost of ownership  Responsible for management of 3rd party fleet provider relationships.  Performs supervisory and technical work in vehicle and equipment mechanics, inventory, purchasing, mobilization and coordination of fleet throughout designated Miner Corp and other business unit locations Assists in the development of the Fleet Services budget to include a review of past year expenses and income  Updates and maintains all fleet related records to ensure accurate and comprehensive visibility into detailed fleet information including assignment, maintenance, mileage, and compliance.  Build processes and systems which capture statistics related to driving trends, safety incidents, and areas of risk; analyze this data to influence adherence to policies and regulations, reduce risk, and reduce cost.  Keeps maintenance and repair records; performs preventative maintenance on all vehicles; orders repair parts  Provides fleet summary and detailed reports to leadership on current fleet, maintenance, inspections, replacements, retirements, to support business strategic needs.  Periodically complete on-site inspections, evaluating the effectiveness of existing control methods and processes; recommend improvements based on data and analysis.  Ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation “DOT” and Rules of the Road regulations partnering with senior and local leadership.  Implements and monitors a preventative maintenance program and a scheduled fleet program to provide all DOT inspections and services required  Ensure DOT and driver safety compliance by publication of periodic reports that recognize areas of success and point out areas offering improvement opportunity; partner with local leaders to improve any opportunities.  Conduct due diligence for potential acquisition targets, analyzing and understanding their fleet and fleet strategy; create and implement an integration plan to assimilate the new fleet.  Implement creative and effective strategies to drive a zero injury/zero incident/no harm mindset across the Company.  Maintains a complete inventory system by tracking all expenditures and income of each vehicle, maintenance equipment, fuel, repair parts, supplies, etc.  Manage and Administer customer mandated third party risk qualification deadlines.  Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all vehicles and equipment in house or serviced by outside vendors  Partner closely with senior leaders across the Company to deploy DOT compliance, driving improvement, fleet management strategies, and cost optimization.  Moderate travel required.  Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Customer Service Orientation  Initiative  Teamwork Timeliness  Attention to detail  Organizational skills  Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting goals and deadlines  Requirements Minimum 5 years of Fleet Management Related Experience required.  Extensive knowledge of Federal and State-specific OSHA /DOT regulations required.  Experience managing 3rd party fleet partners is required.  Familiarity with best practices in asset protection, post-accident and claims management is preferred.  Knowledge of construction safety work rules contained in Supervisor Safety Manuals as well as OSHA and DOT regulations.  Success at executing accident analysis programs and corrective action processes is preferred  Industrial equipment, maintenance and fleet safety background highly desirable.  The ability to interact with all levels of employees, from hourly production workers to corporate executives, is required.  Able to work both independently, and in a team environment.  Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
