About the Risk & Insurance team and the Role

The Risk & Insurance team push the boundaries of risk management, with experts who are focused on and passionate about managing exposure and advising on existing and evolving and emerging risks, ensuring clarity is found where they may be uncertainty.

Reporting directly into the Chief Risk Officer, the Insurance Manager is required to provide support and guidance to leaders and employees across all divisions of THG.

The Insurance Manager will join a team of experts, working to deliver innovative solutions to complex issues. The Manager will also have the opportunity to meet and discuss risk and insurance issues with internal and external senior stakeholders and provide constructive challenge and support, wherever required. As an example they will learn about the people, financial and cyber risks that THG face and how as a business we look to manage, mitigate and reduce these risks with the risk owners.

Responsibilities:

Manage THG’s insurance portfolio and ensure it meets with strategic objectives challenging cover purchased, risks retained and retention strategy, including understanding the role of our Captive.Build and develop strong working relationships with THG’s brokers and key insurersAdvise and educate the business about risk and insurance including the scope of cover, budgeting for insurance and the claims process.Guide and assist legal, commercial and finance colleagues during contract negotiationsGather, analyse and present renewal data for THGManage premium allocations and invoicing with brokers and insurers.Become familiar with every part and aspect of the THG group businessesGain a solid understanding of risk, learning how to guide others to manage, mitigate and reduce itUndertake insurance due diligence for merger and acquisition activity

 Requirements:

Experience in an insurance role, minimum 5+ years’ experiencePassionate and willing to learnStrong communicative skillset and confident in building and developing relationships with both internal and external stakeholdersOrganised with their timeBe willing to travel, to key THG locations and to meet with brokers and insurers (cost covered by the business)Able to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a cohesive team
