Why this role exists.

The CBT Therapist role is a critical support to the delivery of Evidenced based treatment method for Alcohol clients and development of our Clients throughout their recovery from addiction to alcohol.

The CBT Therapist will deliver effective CBT interventions to our Lighthouse alcohol clients whilst managing a caseload consisting of clients with complex alcohol needs.

This role combines skills and knowledge to be able to support clients through there recovery journey whilst engaging with the Alcohol team.

Main duties of the job

-Youll work with adults within our Lighthouse alcohol service. Usually, you will deliver CBT one to one, but it can also be used in a group setting.-Youll work alongside other clinicians, such as wellbeing practitioners , clinical psychologists, mental health nurses. Your work may involve managing referrals and signposting people to other agencies, which will require you to work closely with other healthcare professionals, employment, and education advisers (IPS) and support staff.-You could work in a variety of Multi agency settings, and various partners across the Blackpool landscape.-Services can be based in GP practices, healthcare centres or other community venues.-You will be provided with ongoing supervision to help you engage in self-reflection, seek, and respond to feedback, and develop your professional knowledge and skills.-You will be based in Blackpool and may involve travel to a range of setting across the wider service areas, Blackpool, Lancaster, Burnley however your primary base will be Horizon blackpool.-This role is a hour per week position operating Mon-Fri. We are happy to discuss flexibility with shift patterns.

The Horizon Team is based in Blackpool and have a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience. They are a diverse team creating a culture of wellbeing and togetherness.

The team is made up of various roles such as Administrator, Support workers, Recovery Practitioners, Nurses, Care Coordinators, Therapists and Managers Across two service areas, Lighthouse alcohol service, Winston house opiate and non- opiate service.

The team is welcoming and supportive and they focus on finding the path that is right for the individual whilst delivering innovative and specialist addiction services. In addition, the service offers a collaborative working environment with our new Oasis team supporting those with multiple disadvantages.

How this role will deliver success.

Each Client will have a care plan in place, based on assessments, which is meaningful, developed, effectively coordinated, and regularly reviewed and evaluated.Each Client will be provided with immediate information, advice, and support to ensure their support requirements are met in a prompt and timely manner.

Clients will feel comfortable and supported, the CBT Therapist will be sensitive todifferences in culture and languages, working with interpreters as required, treating everyone with respect and tolerance through a trauma informed approach.

Clients accessing the lighthouse service for treatment will be supported to clear their mind, change behaviours, and prioritise and focus on next steps.Clients will be able to manage symptoms, build coping skills and improve decision making skills.Clients will understand the SCARS and be able to put into practise and review of their lives.

Decisions will be made on the level of clinical input required, based on individual need and current psychotherapy evidence.

Conduct assessments and treatment sessions according to individuals needs.

Offer support and effective Peer sessions within the service and motivate staff.

Exercise professional integrity and sound clinical decision always in particular when dealing with other professionals, clients, families, and colleagues.

Reports will be completed and submitted as required and all mandatory training and supervision will be completed.

Conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver evidence-based CBT interventions to patients with various mental health conditions within NHS guidelines.

Clients will so develop personalised treatment plans based on CBT principles, addressing conditions such as anxiety depression, PTSD, OCD, and other related disorders.

Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records, ensuring compliance with NHS standards and confidentiality guidelines.

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to provide integrated care for patients.

Offer psychoeducation to patients and families to enhance their understanding of CBT techniques and promote self-management.

Qualifications

Essential

Qualified CBT Therapist with relevant accreditation and registration.

Experience

Essential

Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with complex clients and healthcare professionals. Flexibility to work in evening clinics and a willingness to embrace hybrid working arrangements. Adherence to NHS guidelines, ethical standards, and professional codes of conduct. Experience of working with people who have experienced trauma, experience of work in adult MH. Ability to assess, plan, provide and evaluate service delivery (group and individual). Ability to support and develop CBT within the Horizon service. Excellent interpersonal skills including effective oral and written communication skills. Understanding of Case management systems. Good organisation and administration skills including effective time management. Flexible approach to work and ability to organise own workload in response to supervision. Able to work co-operatively within a diverse team and ability to work flexible hours. Understanding of and commitment to organisational philosophy and aims.
