Main duties of the job

The caseload is primarily neurological patients including those with Parkinson's disease, dementia and other acquired swallowing and communication disorders, whom you will see in a range of settings including care homes and patients' own have a senior experienced SLT whose Clinical Development role is to support and develop our band 5s through their preceptorshipyear and beyond, so you will be in excellent handsOur service consists of about 30 therapists and assistant practitioners. We really value our staff and they in turn value the support andopportunities that we offer excellent clinical supervision (individual and group) and hold regular in-service training encourage clinicians returning to practice and students who graduate this year to apply.

Person Specification

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent (or about to qualify)

Desirable

Registered Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

Health and Care Professions Council licence to practice as a Speech & Language Therapist (A) (or applying once qualified)

EXPERIENCE

Essential

Experience of recent community/acute healthcare relevant to the role gained through education or work experience placement or previous employment

Desirable

Relevant voluntary or previous work experience. Dysphagia experience (RCSLT dysphagia competencies level B) or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE

Essential

Knowledge of a range of assessments and therapy techniques.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - both verbal and written - including presentation of information to others.
