About theRole
As SENCo you will play apivotal role in ensuring all students with special educationalneeds receive the tailored support and guidance they require toreach their full potential. You will be responsiblefor:
- Leading anddeveloping the schools SEN provision: Collaboratingwith teachers leadership teams and external agencies to create andimplement effective strategies for identifying assessing andsupporting students withSEN.
- Building strong workingrelationships: Fostering positive relationships withstudents parents/carers teachers and other professionals involvedin supporting SENstudents.
- Providing expert adviceand guidance: Offering specialist knowledge andexpertise to ensure all staff understand and implement bestpractices in SENsupport.
- Monitoring andevaluating SEN provision: Regularly reviewing andanalysing data to measure the effectiveness of interventions andcontinually improve SENpractices.
- Leading and managingthe SEN team: Providing effective leadership andsupport to SEN teaching assistants and other staff involved in SENprovision.
Qualificationsand Experience
- Arelevant postgraduate qualification in SEN such as an MSc orPGCE
- Qualified Teacher Status(QTS)
- Minimum of 3 years experience working asa SENCo or in a similar leadership role
- Proventrack record of successfully implementing effective SENstrategies
- Excellent communicationcollaboration and interpersonal skills
- Strongleadership and management skills
- Passionateabout supporting students with SEN and promoting theirinclusion
