Job Opportunity: Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated good secondary school in Wilmslow. This full-time position starts ASAP and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support the Maths department, helping to deliver high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment for students. This role is ideal for recent graduates who are passionate about mathematics and considering a career in education.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Support:

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging and effective Maths lessons.
  • Provide individual and group support to students, helping them understand complex mathematical concepts.
  • Prepare and organize teaching materials and resources to enhance the learning experience.

Student Support:

  • Work closely with students who require additional assistance, providing targeted support to improve their mathematical skills.
  • Conduct small group and one-on-one sessions to address specific learning needs and gaps in knowledge.
  • Support students' academic development and confidence in Maths.

Assessment and Feedback:

  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and relevant staff members.
  • Assist in assessing students' work, offering constructive feedback to help them improve their understanding and performance.
  • Help prepare reports and documentation related to students' academic progress.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents, providing updates on students' progress and well-being.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices in Maths education.
  • Work collaboratively with the Maths department and other school staff to ensure a supportive and cohesive learning environment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support the organization and supervision of extracurricular Maths activities and clubs.
  • Assist with classroom management, promoting a respectful and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a supportive approach to working with young people.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the varying needs of students and the school.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to supporting students' academic growth.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
