Main duties of the job

Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates programmes of care in a range of environments, without supervision.

For newly qualified Midwives once preceptorship period is complete, supports, supervises and teaches less experienced staff on the ward/team relevant clinical and non-clinical procedures and practices.

Works autonomously within the department/team within Trust guidelines and sphere of professional practice.

Qualifications

Essential

oRegistered Midwife eligible to be live on the register (including 3rd year students due to qualify) oDegree in/working towards degree in Midwifery

Desirable

oNIPT trained oSupervisor and assessor trained SSSA or equivalent

Experience

oUp to date mandatory training in fire, infection control, basic life support and moving and handling
