Main duties of the job

 The Crisis Response and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) is a key part of the Urgent Care Pathway vision to provide a 24/7 crisis mental health service across the county . Clinicians employed into the team are already part of an exciting and developing service that aims to support services users and their trusted persons with least restrictive care by providing a variety of highly intensive brief Bio- Psychosocial intervention interventions in the community. community care/research and management and leadership within a healthcare setting.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the activities of the crisis team during clinical shifts, ensuring effective patient care and adherence to clinical governance. Actively participate in the triage of new referrals, risk assessments, and the formulation of care plans. Oversee the clinical and administrative handover processes at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring continuity of care. Ensure the effective and efficient deployment of staff and resources based on the anticipated caseload and geographic considerations. Provide clinical supervision, support, and guidance to junior staff and peers, promoting best practices in mental health crisis intervention. Conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver intensive short-term treatment interventions in line with the Crisis model. Coordinate the shift team to safely manage a caseload of individuals experiencing mental health crises, coordinating care with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies as necessary. Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and adjust as necessary, ensuring all interventions are recovery-focused, strength based and co-produced.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Relevant professional qualification – Health Professions Council registered, Occupational Therapist with Dip RCOT qualification or degree Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) portfolio.

Desirable criteria

Post basic qualification in community care / research. Qualification in management and leadership within a healthcare setting. Hold a psycho-social intervention qualification or equivalent. To hold an advanced professional/clinical qualification (eg AMHP, CBT, DBT)

Experience

Essential criteria

To have a good knowledge of community services both generic and mental health Experience of supervising and managing staff. Experience of providing leadership. Experience of multidisciplinary working. Formal and informal teaching including supervising students.. Providing clinical and / or managerial supervision. Experience and knowledge of clinical audit. Experience of authorising payments /expenses and handling petty cash.

Desirable criteria

Experience of undertaking complaint or incident investigations.

Active interest in service user experience and responding attentively and constructively to this To read, understand and work within relevant Trust policies and procedures. Able to travel to undertake work and have the capacity to carry equipment relative to your post. Able to comply with manual handling policies and guidelines. Able to comply with the PMVA requirements of this post which are breakaway and de-scalation skills All new starters have a 6 month probationary period.
