An opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of an Essex Hate Crime Officer The role supports community policing teams and partner agencies and force-wide objectives relating to Hate crime across the County.

This is a challenging and varied role that will require the successful candidate to contribute to the risk assessment and safeguarding of hate crime victims by communicating directly with victims, becoming an expert in this specialised area. This in turn will enable you provide accurate information sharing to partners and supporting officers and external partners with engagement opportunities.

The role will require a high degree of professionalism and independent working and it is therefore essential that you are able to effectively plan, prioritise and manage your workload as well as possess excellent communication skills.

You will require good IT skills including searching and updating of police systems including PNC, STORM and ATHENA.

This opportunity would suit a highly motivated individual who has prior experience of partnership working in order to achieve the best outcomes for victims.

You will suit this role if you are self-motivated and organised and able to manage competing demands. Presentation skills/training skills would be advantageous as the role includes engagement with the public, partners and local community policing teams on hate crime related matters.

Flexible working would be considered on a case by case basis.

Essex Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £29,874.00.
