Position: SEN Teaching Assistant 

Location: Litherland, Liverpool (L21)

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 3.15pm

Pay Rate: £12.90 per hour.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Job Role:

- Individualised Support:  Provide tailored support to children with SEN requirements, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities and resources.

- Assistance in Classroom: Collaborate with teachers to create inclusive learning environments, assisting with classroom activities and promoting positive behaviuor management strategies.

- Personalised Learning: Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching materials to suit the needs of each child.

- Emotional Support: Foster a supportive and nurturing relationship with students, offering emotional support and encouragement to build their confidence and self-esteem.

- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and external panels to ensure continuity of care and support for each child.

- Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of student progress and any incidents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with school policies.

- Inclusive Practices: Promote inclusivity and diversity within the school community, advocating for the needs of children with SEN and raising awareness among staff and peers.

Requirements:

-          Experience supporting children or adults with SEN requirements is essential, demonstrating empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in their well-being.

-          Experience within a Primary School setting is desirable but not essential; however, a willingness to learn and adapt to the school's Catholic ethos and practices is essential.

-          Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support would be desirable but not essential.

-          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
