Last year, we helped more than 688,000 children and families across the UK. From direct work in communities to national campaigning, we are focused on making sure every child has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.

Why Action for Children?

Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable children's lives.

A bit about the role

The London Independent Visitors Service is a dynamic project that enables children in care to develop a long-lasting relationship with a trusted adult volunteer. The Advocacy Service promotes and facilitates the participation of children and young people in decisions made about them.

You will be joining a passionate and dedicated team, working across both the Independent Visitors and Advocacy Services. Your work in this dual role will have a positive impact on the lives of children and young people across London.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

We are seeking a passionate and confident Children's Rights Officer to work in our busy service, providing advocacy and support to service users of all ages in the care system, ensuring that their voices are heard.

You will do this by:

  • Assisting, guiding, and teaching the Service Users their rights and how to develop their confidence and key life skills.
  • Recruiting, leading, and supporting volunteers to act as Independent Visitors to people in care.
  • Building and maintaining excellent rapports with Service Users and other care professionals to promote Equality & Diversity.
  • Managing individual caseloads and providing advocacy services to Service Users.
  • Providing 1:1 support to service users to achieve positive outcomes.

Let's talk about you.
