CR Civil Engineering part of the RSK Group are a family run business, based in the Midlands and Yorkshire, operating throughout England and Wales. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Ground Worker to join our team in Loughborough, UK.

The Role:

To work within a team responsible for providing high quality civil engineering services to clients and to carry out quality work on site and contribute to towards the goals of the team in an efficient, co-operative and constructive manner.

The role will be on schemes within the Midlands region, based on projects around Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all types of labouring and ground works to the required specification, standard and timescale, as directed by the Ganger/Foreman.
  • Operate company vehicles, plant and equipment as required and in accordance with procedures.
  • Complete all necessary documents and paperwork and submit in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all duties and performance standards comply with current health and safety procedures, plant and PPE regulations.
  • Work effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers.

Key Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Experience of a wide range of civil engineering applications, including major highways, water and wastewater treatment or rail.
  • Skilled in Pipe laying, chamber installation, kerb laying, earthworks, ducting, minor concrete works and general civil engineering.
  • Experience of working in a team
  • Experience of working in a customer focussed environment
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Awareness of health and safety issues and duty of care towards colleagues
  • Understanding of relevant plant and equipment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously when necessary
  • Flexibility with regard to duties and hours of work
  • Willingness to undertake training and development

Qualifications Required:

Mandatory

  • Blue CSCS card
  • NVQ Level 2
  • CPCS Dumper and Roller
  • Cat and Genny
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • EUSR Cat 1&2
  • Safety Critical Medical
  • National Highways Passport
  • Confined Spaces

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary between £12.70 & £18.03 per hour depending on experience
  • Company Contribution Pension
  • 22 days annual leave (Ex BH)
