Due to the large current market opportunities that this sector is currently seeing, this individual, needs to bring their skills to deliver key projects for us on time and on budget while creating and maintaining relationships with our clients.
You will report to an operations director, however you will be given full responsibility and have autonomy to drive and successfully deliver your projects the AVK way.
Energy Storage
At the forefront of Power Generation technologies, AVK have designed and utilised innovative battery storage solutions for a range of client applications.
Critical applications using gas turbines, reciprocating gas engines, and diesel engines coupled with Energy Storage Systems offers incredible flexibility whilst being able to competitively offer Grid-Scale Storage Solutions.
Supporting our critical power clients, a modularised solution is used to compliment fast starting Gas Generator Sets which not only maintains the critical load, but with the addition of an integrated control system, offers the flexibility to trade the asset whilst ensuring the Energy Solution operates to UK Grid Code / specific nuisances to site.
Key Objectives / Responsibilities
- This role requires a balance between role model leadership, operational skill, strategic ability, strong financial acumen and be able to communicate at high level of engagement with new and existing clients.
- Due to the varied type of projects which the role encompasses, the person needs to have a good understanding of the type of work carried out in this sector and be able to manage and deliver projects successfully.
- Be able to demonstrate that either he or she has a proven track record in delivering projects in this sector.
- Has already shown clear ownership and leadership qualities.
- Be able to be adaptable and be capable to work with several of our key customers.
- High level of commercial acumen with a proven track record of working in preconstruction, project procurement and project execution phases.
- Have implemented and used appropriate project controls to oversee successful major project delivery.
- Experience of identifying and implementing continuous improvement in a project environment.
- Experience of actively contributing to the development, analysis and implementation of business strategy and analysis.
- Track record of successfully managing and controlling costs, delivering against deadlines, maintaining quality and progression on major projects.
- Evidence of building effective relationships with clients.

- Manage projects and resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done effectively and efficiently; set and follow up goals that are concrete and realistic.
- Highlight mistakes or difficulties transparently.
- Challenge and examine what, how and why we do the things we do with targets that are concrete and realistic; dig deep to ensure a proper view of the situation.
- Consider risks and opportunities when making decisions.
- Follow processes and guidelines set by AVK.
- Take decisions also in difficult situations and persist when faced with pressure or setbacks.
- Take several related areas into account - make sure that targets are aligned with AVK’s overall purpose and strategy.

Requirements
- Experience in power generation industry
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Customer focussed with negotiation and mediation skills
- Hold an electrical or mechanical engineering qualification
- Hold a full valid driving licence
