Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)? New Directions is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of ALN Teaching Assistants in the vibrant Brecon area. We have multiple positions available, including long-term and part-time roles, as well as day-to-day supply opportunities.

Role Overview:

As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs within Primary and Secondary school settings. Your responsibilities will include providing one-to-one and group support to students, assisting with classroom activities, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with ALN, including those with emotional or behavioural challenges, to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff members to deliver personalised learning experiences for students.
  • Assist in preparing classrooms for lessons, ensuring all materials and resources are readily available to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
  • Create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where students feel motivated and empowered to succeed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 months of experience working with children or young people in an educational or care-based setting.
  • Enthusiasm and dedication to supporting students with ALN and contributing to their holistic development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with both students and colleagues.
  • Commitment to staying informed about educational developments and best practices in ALN support.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and possession of a clear DBS with the update service.
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is required.
