We are looking for enthusiastic registered nurses to work in our Inpatient Ward. The positions available are for 30 hours per week and 24 hours per week. There is a requirement to work across a full rotation 24/7.
Main duties of the job
Our 12-bed unit is a well-supported setting where you work alongside a multidisciplinary team of Senior Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants, specialist Medical team and Allied Health Professionals. Additionally, our volunteers bring plenty of positivity and invaluable support to our ward. This diversity of skills, knowledge and experience is fundamental to excellent care, and the wards friendly and supportive atmosphere.
Set in the grounds of our peaceful gardens, our Sylvan Ward offers a calming environment for palliative care. At the same time, inspired activities such as afternoon teas, pizza nights and donkey visits make for lasting memorable moments; these are some of the most wonderful examples of holistic care our teams create for our patients and families.
To ensure a positive work-life balance, we facilitate a flexible, family-friendly approach by encouraging the team to self-roster. Our inpatient team work a 12-hour shift pattern of days and nights. We offer a supportive roster; if you have special requirements for your working pattern, we encourage you to discuss your needs.

Job description
Job responsibilities
The provision of specialist palliative and end of life nursing care, primarily on Sylvan Ward. The delivery of a holistic model of care, which supports the psychological, emotional, socialand spiritual needs of the patient. Participation in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of personcentred nursing care for patients. Awareness of the importance of supporting family members through periods of death,dying and bereavement. Working effectively with MDT colleagues, delegating duties according to the skills andknowledge of junior team members. Qualifications
Essential
Adult Registered Nurse (Active NMC registrant) Relevant Diploma or Degree in Nursing Able to demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development
Desirable
Qualification in palliative care or long term conditions, or willingness to work towards this Teaching and Assessing qualification (ENB 998, Practice Assessor, or similar)
Experience

Clinical experience and experience of palliative care Good knowledge of palliative care theory and practice
