We are looking for a full-time Specialist Support worker to work in our High Needs unit at our 55 bed Charter Row Lifehouse in Sheffield. We support complex vulnerable homeless males over the age of 18 years old.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, motivated, a good communicator, passionate and positive.
Key Responsibilities:
The Specialist Support Worker at Charter Row Lifehouse is critical to providing an enhanced level of support within our high need’s unit for our complex need’s residents. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will be responsible for taking a lead role in delivering the centres Harm reduction and Psychosocial programmes. Responsible for developing and delivering a high-quality programme of support which promotes client choice and control, to address client support needs, enable them to achieve positive life changes and ultimately empower them to lead more sustainable lifestyles. The successful applicant will function as part of our Support Team, which may also include being part of the management roster with on call duties, as and when required.
The successful candidate will:
Be sympathetic to the Christian values of The Salvation Army Function as part of the management/duty management rota as and when required Use their initiative in problem solving for the benefit of clients and colleagues. Deliver a client focussed programme using a psychologically informed approach. Work in busy environment, be solution focused, and can demonstrate ability to prioritise and make decisions under pressure Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Experience of building and maintaining strong and effective partnerships with stakeholders, other services. Be an advocate for clients, including supporting clients to attend appointments. Deliver the centres Harm Reduction and Psychosocial programmes Support and develop Support Workers & Assistant Support Workers in their professional development and their work with clients. This includes training, mentoring, and monitoring of interventions with clients.
