We are seeking two new Obstetrician and Gynaecologists

EPAU Lead / Gynae Assessment Unit Lead Audit Lead, with an interest in Outpatient Hysteroscopy & Colposcopy To support and complement both the Obstetrics and Gynaecology services provided by George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. To take clinical responsibility for a defined cohort of women under their care, both when outpatients and inpatients. To provide consultant presence on the Labour Ward and participate in the out-of-hours consultant rota. To participate in 'Consultant of the week' (Hot Week) and to provide consultant cover for the Maternity Assessment Unit and Triage during these weeks. To provide a weekly '2 week wait clinic' to support the requirements of the oncology service. The ability/interest in performing laparoscopic hysterectomies would be advantageous. To be involved in appraisal and assessment of junior staff and undergraduate students. To actively participate in clinical teaching and training of the wider multidisciplinary team. To take an active role in Clinical Governance, and lead and participate in audit projects relevant to clinical care. To provide leadership to the Audit Committee and ensure that the Unit guidelines and national Standards are audited regularly, and changes made in line with the audit recommendations, liaising with the Guideline Lead to carry out a constant programme of change in the Department in line with National requirements. To promote research and academic activity within the department

Person Specification
Experience and Knowledge
Essential

Fully trained in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Clinical Knowledge and Expertise: Appropriateknowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgment to problems demonstrates clear, logical thinking/analytical approach understands evidence-based practice ATSM in Out Patient Hysteroscopy ATSM in EPAU management IT Skills, ability to use web browser, excel, word etc Willingness to develop skills and experience in areas of interest. Evidence of regularly undertaking audits and management of change in line with the audit recommendations

Desirable

Evidence of clinical or research commitment and a relevant specialty interest. Ability to perform/ interest in performing laparoscopic hysterectomies

Qualification and Professional Training
Essential

MBBS or Equivalent Full GMC Registration, with licence to practice MRCOG or Equivalent Membership of relevant Specialist Societiesor Associations eg BSCCP

Desirable

Higher degree e.g., MSc, MD orequivalent
