GSL Education is currently looking to recruit dedicated Behaviour Support to join our vibrant, co-educational schools in Wakefield, where you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome behavioural challenges and thrive in their educational journey.

Job Summary:

As a Behaviour Support, you will play a crucial role in helping our students overcome challenges and achieve their potential. You will work actively with students, teachers, and other school staff to manage and improve student behaviour, ensure students can learn effectively and safely. We believe that student deserves the best support, and your contribution will help make that possible.

Job Responsibilities of Behaviour Support:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to engage positively in their learning.
  • Develop and implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual student needs.
  • Work closely with students to develop their social skills and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to create a supportive and conducive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Monitor and record student behaviour, progress and interventions.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff to ensure consistent Behaviour Support across the school.

Qualifications of Behaviour Support:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or working with children with behavioural challenges in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of behaviour management techniques.
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach to handling challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff members and outside agencies, such as counsellors and mental health professionals.
