Science Teacher

Location: Gateshead, Tyne and Wear 

Salary: £120 to £180 per day

Start Date: September term 2024

Contract Type: Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education is seeking to employ a Qualified Science Teacher to work for a co-educational school based in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear from the upcoming September term. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who must be hardworking, conscientious and full of energy, with a strong track record of raising attainment.


As a Science Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-Level Science.
  • Assisting in the creation of an interesting and innovative Sciencecurriculum.
  • Assisting young people using all available tools, including ICT and online resources.
  • Following the School’s ethos, and behaviour management policy, supporting positive behaviour throughout the school.
  • Participating in staff training days, meetings, and parent’s evenings where applicable.


As a Science Teacher, essential requirements include the following:

  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Be able to teach Science to GCSE and A-Level standards.
  • Be a committed educator who understands how special educational needs affect the teaching and learning methods used by young people.
  • Be committed to the safeguarding of the students.

To work with GSL Education as a Science Teacher, you should:  

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
