An excitingopportunity has arisen for a Logistics Supervisor to join the operational Facilities Management team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.

We are looking for a self motivated andenthusiastic person with previous supervisory experience who would like to be part of a high performing managementteam. The post holder will supervise a team of support portering services, linen and laundry services.

TheFacilities Team provides a professional in-house service which plays a key role in the Trust's overall performance which is reflected inour values and behaviours.

This is a full-time position. The shift pattern will be hours per week working 5 days over 7 with varying shifts between to

Main duties of the job

The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for leading the daily delivery of an efficientand effective customer focused quality service in accordance with the NationalStandards of Healthcare.

The scope of the service involves thesupervision of a team of Porters for the delivery of service.

You will have the ability to plan, actand monitor your own and your team's performance and need to be adaptable,self-motivated, set clearly defined and achievable individual, team and operationalgoals.

You will workcollaboratively with key partners, support the clinical teams and establish andmaintain good working relationships. You will have clear lines of communication withLine Managers, Clinical Managers, Teams, Trust Staff, external organisations andthe public.

KeyResponsibilities

Delivering the Service - on a daily basisSupervisors will be required to identify and respond to user needs and to solveproblems/complaints as and when they arise. This will require effective liaisonwith other staff groups, particularly nursing and actively seek constructivefeedback on service provision. TheSupervisors role covers a range of services within facilities. To train, monitor and supervise facilities staffin all the elements of their role. To supervise the handling of Clinical wastegenerated by the retained estate. Supervisors are required to work with staffteams and to carry out portering duties to cover theneeds of the service. A Supervisor will be required to have theknowledge and technical ability to be able to undertake and teach staff theskills necessary to complete service delivery. Supports the Trusts Health and Safety Policyensuring staff are trained to ensure the safety of staff visitors and patientwithin their area of work. Monitor areas of responsibility to ensureservice standards are consistently delivered in line with National CleaningStandards. Taking remedial action as necessary. To support the Team Leaders in ensuringequipment used to deliver the service is of the standard required and ismaintained to physical and technical standards. To inform Team Leaders of the orderingrequirements to maintain sufficient stock levels to deliver the service. Undertake initial investigation and reporting ofuntoward incidents and accidents using Datix. Completion and returning of Absence Monitoringforms. Will be required to take responsibility forensuring that return to work interviews are completed in a timely manner andthat the Team Leaders are informed when an employee reaches the next stageof the Trust Management of Sickness and Absence Policy. Checking and countersigning clock cards on a weeklybasis in preparation for data entry to the payroll data base. Management of annual leave requests in a timelymanner. Person Specification
