Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic HealthcareAssistant (HCA) to join our nursing team.We are a happy established clinical team that is looking for the rightHealthcare Assistant to join us; someone who is compassionate and has a desireto help patients on a day-to-day basis.

We are looking for a NVQ 3 qualified (or equivalent) Healthcare Assistant to join our team who will work full or part time 9 am 5 pm Monday to Friday (with one hour unpaid lunch break)

We require an experienced HCA, or we will consider someone willing to train, who is able to perform all the usual routine tasks and functions of this role. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team delivering safe high quality care.

General Practice experience is desirable but notessential as training will be given. We are looking for someone who is organised,self-motivated, a good communicator and adaptable.

Main duties of the job

Duties and responsibilities in your own clinics will include, but not be limited to;

Assist with Long Term Condition clinics NHS Health checks. Wound management. Flu & pneumonia vaccinations ECGs. BP checks. B12 injections. Suture & clip removal. Ordering nursing equipment Assisting with baby immunisations

We are a friendly team consisting of 2 GP Partners, 8 ANPs, 1 ECP, 6 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, 1 GPA and a supportive admin staff caring for 13,700 patients in a semi-rural setting. We are also supported by PCN ARRS staff including 2 Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapist, Mental Health Nurse, Social Prescriber and Health Coaches.

Job responsibilities

The Healthcare Assistant will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education.

Job Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Blood pressure checks Urinalysis Height/weight/BMI Ordering supplies/stock control Equipment ordering. Ordering vaccines ECG recording Restocking of clinical area Health promotion Supporting practice Assisting with minor operations, coil fittings, implanon removal, dermatology clinics Infection control Health checks Acting as a chaperone Helping with specific long-term conditions, eg diabetes, asthma as requested. Weight management. Helping with baby clinic (admin). Monitor fridges daily. Helping with immunisation campaigns. Dressings. Clinical waste.

OTHER TASKS WILL INCLUDE (training may be needed)

Leg ulcer care/ Doppler. Removal of sutures/clips Assisting with travel clinic (admin). Spirometry Smoking cessation Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post.
