Therole:

Weare seeking talented reliable and passionate support workers tojoin our team. As a Support Worker you will support people livingwith disabilitythrough:

  • Assistingparticipants with daily living activities and day to day support tomeet the goals detailed in their individual plans. This couldinclude assisting with general housework personal hygiene cookingor many othertasks.
  • Supportingparticipants to access community events or services and with socialoutings andtransport.
  • Accuraterecord keeping including submitting progress notes for each shiftand incident reports asappropriate.
  • Providingsupport in a manner that is consistent and encourages and motivatesthe Participant to meet their goals and independent skills buildingthrough person centredpractices.
  • Promotinga stimulating caring and culturally appropriate environment forparticipants.
  • Providingany required selfcare social and emotional support to theparticipant asrequired.
  • Ensuringa professional boundary is maintained throughout the course of allsupportprovided.
  • Maintainingappropriate and effective communication with all stakeholdersincluding team leaders peers andmanagement.



Requirements

  • CovidInfection Control Certificate (completed previously or willing toobtain)
  • NSWDriversLicence
  • Reliableand comprehensively insuredvehicle
  • CurrentFirst Aid & CPRCertificates

Inaddition our ideal candidate willalso:

  • Previousexperience in a similarrole
  • Mentalhealth first aidtraining
  • Medicationmanagementtraining
  • Experiencemanaging challengingbehaviours
  • Manualhandling experience includinghoisting

Abackground experience assisting people with bipolar disorderschizophrenia and intellectual disability will be highlyregarded.
