What will you be doing?

Developing new and maintaining existing models used by our energy modelling team on client projects or used directly by clientsPrimarily focusing on backend development while also supporting upgrades to web-based front endsCollaborating with non-IT technical users to understand requirements and business objectives, identifying issues, and providing solutions in a timely mannerManaging and supporting junior developersBeing an active, engaged, and proficient member of the model development team

What skills, experience and qualities are we looking for? 

A relevant BSc, MSc, or MBA qualification, focusing on mathematics or computer science or equivalent experienceAn excellent understanding of C# programmingExcellent communication skills, including the ability to discuss technical matters in non-technical languageComfort in working collaboratively within a team, enthusiasm for delivering an exceptional user experience, and eagerness to learn new skills on the jobKnowledge and understanding of Visual StudioExperience in using Microsoft technical stack and Azure DevOps (desirable)Experience with front-end web languages would be beneficial, particularly proficiency in Vue JS and TypeScript would be advantageousAbility to demonstrate clear and logical thinking processes, along with the capability to effectively communicate examples of workExperience with energy market modelling and optimisation techniques would be advantageousAbility to manage and prioritise a workload involving multiple projects and deadlinesDesirable (but not essential) experience or exposure to power market modelling
