Are you a motivated person with a passion for delivering learning with a background in farming and animal care?

Then, this may be the post for you. We are looking for a permanent (35 hours per week) Life Skills Tutor to join our team working within our Farm Life Skills Service.

Working with the Life Skills Coordinator, you will help individuals to gain experience in the day to day care and wellbeing of livestock. You will support the development of students with planned sessions tailored to their needs, abilities and/or aspirations.

Our Farm Life Skills Service promotes wellbeing and independence whilst offering training in Agricultural Animals. The farm is set in approximately 100 acres with a range of farm animals including cows, horses, sheep, chickens, goats, pigs, and rabbits.

About you

As a Life Skills Tutor you will ideally have:

  • a sound agricultural knowledge and a range of practical farm working skills

  • experience of supporting adults with a learning disability

  • ideally a vocational qualification relevant to animal care / farming

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • hold a full UK driving licence

The Role

As a Life Skills Tutor your responsibilities will include:

  • The design, delivery and evaluation of planned learning and training to our students

  • Evaluating the progress of students and providing developmental feedback tailored to the needs of individual students

Hours

  • 35 hours per week (Mon - Fri 9.00am - 4.00pm)

  • There may be a requirement to work some hours at weekends

Pay and Benefits

  • Annual Salary: £21,130.2 pa based on 35 hrs/wk (FTE £22,639.5 pa)

  • 22 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays; Additional annual leave for 3,4 and 5 years continuous service
